We will invite interaction with a novel modeling prototype for exploring tradeoffs in animal protein system resilience and sustainability

Charlotte Convention Center

Charlotte Convention CenterEast Wing, Room E216ABTuesday, December 55 pm ESTRefreshments will be servedPresenters:Greg Thoma (Colorado State University)Jennifer Schmitt (University of Minnesota)John Sheehan (Colorado State University)We will present a prototype of our novel modeling system for exploring tradeoffs in system resilience and sustainability, inviting attendees to directly engage with the tool. Attendees will provide live feedback on how we should best prioritize its potential capabilities and thereby help guide our development efforts to those topics of greatest interest, particularly in the environmental, human nutrition, and socioeconomic domains. We also seek input on the types of regional, national, and global shocks of greatest potential interest: climate/weather-related (e.g., drought, sustained heat waves, floods), animal-disease, human-disease (e.g., COVID), transport disruption (trains, trucks, barges, seafaring freight, etc.).
