MHAMD is Maryland’s only volunteer nonprofit citizens organization bringing together consumers, families, professionals, advocates, and concerned citizens for unified action in all aspects of behavioral health. We envision a just, humane, and healthy society where each individual is accorded respect, dignity, and the opportunity to achieve their full potential—free from stigma and prejudice.

Graduate Annapolis

For over a decade, Maryland has seen a marked decline in the availability of mental health and substance use services for youth and an outpouring of need. The results have been devastating. Now more than ever, we need a holistic, integrated, and comprehensive approach to youth wellbeing. At the 2024 MHAMD Legislative Briefing and Reception, we will be laser focused on the children’s mental health crisis in Maryland, bringing together leaders from all child-serving agencies to discuss an interagency plan that coordinates and improves services for children and youth across the state.
