Who we areFarm Discovery at Live Earth is a nonprofit organization working in the Pajaro Valley community to empower youth and families to build and sustain healthyfood, farming, social and naturalsystems. Our home, Live Earth Farm, is a 150 acre patchwork of working farm, riparian corridor, oak and redwood forest in the Pajaro Valley of Santa Cruz County, California.What we care aboutWe believe that we cantransform personal and community healthand improve our impact on earth by building and sustaining collaborative agricultural, ecological and social systems. We believe that communities armed with knowledge and the skills of inquiry can transform food, farming and natural systems for the better.What we doFarm Discovery offers educational programs that inspire youth and families to transform their relationship to food, farming and nature.We steward our working farm and its wild spaces as an environmentally and economically viable piece of the food system and a learning space.We collaborate with community partners to learn from each other and extend our collective impact in the community.

Bring the whole family for a fun day at the farm, where we will explore our organic farm land, taste fresh produce, and visit our animals!

The Family Farm Day program provides a place and time to experience nature, to smell, see, taste, touch, and hear all this organic farm and its wild spaces has to offer. In this way we will set the stage for our children to develop their own healthy relationships with nature and food. Admission is $20 per family.Tour activities are seasonal and may include:<ul><li>Visiting chickens</li><li>Watching and petting the goats</li><li>Picking ripe fruits and vegetables</li><li>Exploring the education or permaculture gardens</li></ul>Join us the first Saturday from September-November from 10:00-11:30 for Family Farm Day, a unique family farm experience. We will meet under the willow tree by the play structure. You’re welcome to bring a picnic lunch and stay until 12:30 after the tour.Cost is $20 per family, please email education@farmdiscovery.org if your family needs a scholarship.What to Bring:<ul><li>Water/ water bottles (there is plenty of potable water around the farm for refills)</li><li>Close-toed shoes</li><li>Hats</li><li>Sunscreen</li><li>Weather appropriate clothing</li><li>Baby carrier/stroller</li></ul>
