Jaimie Warren guides us through their methods for making fabulous foam props for a puppet wonderland.

Governors Island

In preparation for Jaimie Warren&#x27;s spring 2020 exhibition at Pioneer Works, the artist will be creating an immersive puppet wonderland created and designed in collaboration with their artist community and a wide range of local youth and volunteers. In this workshop, Warren will teach their methods for creating foam props through cutting and soaking various foams in paint. Work with Warren to create bugs, snakes, flowers, cookies, and candies to contribute to the upcoming installation or to take home with you.This event will take place off-site at Governors Island, Nolan Park 8B, which is accessible via ferry from Manhattan and Brooklyn.Price: Free ($10 Suggested Donation)Audience: Open to all.Materials: Materials provided.Jaimie Warren is a multidisciplinary artist and the Co-Director and Co-Creator of the community arts project and fake public access tv show Whoop Dee Doo. Warren is a NYFA Fellow and has been awarded residencies with the Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program, BRICworkspace, Abrons AIRspace, and American Medium. Warren is the recipient of the Baum Award and is featured in Art21’s documentary series “New York Close Up.”Warren has taught workshops with the Museum of Modern Art, the Art21 Education Department, the Museum of Art &amp; Design, the Brooklyn Arts Council SU-CASA Program, NurtureArt, Dia: Beacon, and Abrons Arts Center.
