OrganizerBRAVER ANGELS OF CENTRAL TEXASBraver Angels (originally Better Angels) of Central Texas provides new alternatives for people with diverse views to strengthen our democracy through respect, understanding, and action.•As individuals, we try to understand the other side’s point of view, even if we don’t agree with it.•In our communities, we engage those we disagree with, looking for common ground and ways to work together.•In politics, we support principles that bring us together rather than divide us.Our activities are organizing community workshops and local alliances, gathering annually to determine national priorities, and convening red and blue thought leaders to make new arguments and show better ways to disagree.Our rule of balance is that in all our red/blue workshops and alliances, and at every level of leadership, we are half red and half blue. We strive to make it so that our leaders and members range from working class to affluent, and come from many backgrounds, so that our organization can reflect the country we seek to serve.When you register for an event, we will add you to our subscriber base. <h3>             IN PERSON &quot;FAMILIES AND POLITICS WORKSHOP&quot;</h3><h3>SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2023  FROM 9:30 AM TO 12:30 PM </h3><h3>L﻿OCATION: The Dispute Resolution Center, 5407 N Interstate Hwy 35, Suite 410, Austin, TX, 78723</h3><h3>Family relationships are becoming casualties of our toxic political environment.  </h3><h3>Family members are having nasty political arguments, avoiding each other, or even cutting off lifetime relationships. </h3><h3>If you want to preserve important family bonds while still being true to your values and political beliefs, this workshop will offer you:   </h3><ul><li>Insight into why family differences over politics are uniquely challenging</li></ul><ul><li>Recognition of common roles that family members play in political conversations (for example, the Gladiator, the Defender, and the Sniper)</li></ul><ul><li>Strategies and skills for handling family political differences in a constructive way </li></ul><h3>Although the focus is on family relationships, you can use learnings in this workshop with any loved one.  </h3><h3>You’ll laugh and have some fun in this workshop—it won’t be all serious.
