Learn and embrace various Latin Dance Rhythms

Join this 10-Week performance workshop and explore a variety of different Latin Dance Rhythms from today’s Top Latin hits to classic cumbias with the choice to perform throughout the Mission! *Heels are encouraged though not required.Led by MCCLA’s 2019, Carnaval Choreographer, Lydia Soto, this workshop explores various Latin Rhythm's from Salsa to Reggaeton. Learn the choreography and get the chance to perform the routines at MCCLA events.Ages: Recommended 13+Teacher Bio 
Lydia Soto is a choreographer, dancer, and co founder of the Tradicion Peruana Cultural Center. She grew up in Lima, Peru but has been teaching and performing Afro’Peruvian dance since she came to the United States in 1993. Lydia comes from a very talented family, expressing her interest in and passion for dancing in Peru from a very early age in schools, colleges and surrounding communities. Today, Lydia is the choreographer-director of Jaranon y Bochinche performance dance company, but she also teaches classes to students of different ages throughout the Bay Area. 

Lydia has led her group)s) to participate in the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, Theater Artaud, Encuentro popular, and many more Bay Area venues. Lydia also was part of [windows to the World,[ and [Raices Negras,[ which are two well received dance and music performances in the Bay Area.
