Recognizing, Educationg & Advocating for Dyslexic StudentsPark City READS is a local nonprofit advocating for recognition and education of dyslexic students. We promote elevating literacy through early identification of struggling readers, effective reading interventions and appropriate classroom accommodations. We provide resources and support to families with struggling readers, particularly those identified as dyslexic.

A presentation and panel discussion covering essential topics for students as they navigate the college admission process.

Successfully navigating the transition from high school to college can be challenging for many students and those with 504 Plans or IEPs have additional topics to consider. Preparing for this process early is important and this presentation for students and parents will cover important information including:<ul><li>Preparing a college admissions package</li><li>Researching and building a college list</li><li>Understanding what "test-optional" means</li><li>Learning why colleges do not offer IEPs and 504 Plans</li><li>Explaining how parent &amp; student roles change</li><li>Building your "launch kit" to succeed on campusA panel of educators, parents &amp; professionals from local high schools and colleges will follow</li></ul>Questions can be emailed to: parkcityreads@gmail.com.
