Gather and build community over vegan soup. Then watch the hourlong film "The Wisdom To Survive."

Join Beacon Hill Friends House for a celebration of community with a meal and a movie. As the weather begins to chill in the late summer season, we will be serving a hearty vegan soup alongside local artisanal breads. Come enjoy food and community with old and new friends after the climate strike–– or, if you couldn't make it to the strike events, take this opportunity to gather with others.<ul><li>From 6pm: soup supper and fellowship</li><li>7-8pm: Screening of "<a href="http://thewisdomtosurvive.bullfrogcommunities.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Wisdom To Survive: Climate Change, Capitalism, &amp; Community"</a> (film will be captioned)</li><li>(8-8:30pm: stay for a brief discussion if you like)</li></ul>CHILDCARE AVAILABLE for kids under 13 with childcare form completed (24 hours in advance if possible): http://bit.ly/2m0qnKJNote: you are welcome (but not expected!) to bring sides, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages, but please don't bring things that need to be heated, as kitchen space is limited.About the film:THE WISDOM TO SURVIVE accepts the consensus of scientists that climate change has already arrived, and asks, what is keeping us from action? The film explores how unlimited growth and greed are destroying the life support system of the planet, the social fabric of the society, and the lives of billions of people.Will we have the wisdom to survive? The film features thought leaders and activists in the realms of science, economics and spirituality discussing how we can evolve and take action in the face of climate disruption. They urge us to open ourselves to the beauty that surrounds us and get to work on ensuring it thrives.
