Welcome to EMERGE, where we believe that the journey to meaningful employment and personal growth never ends! Unlike traditional Transition Services that only cover the period right after high school, EMERGE serves learners during and long after that period, as long as they can benefit from our services.
At EMERGE, we are dedicated to empowering our learners to achieve their full potential, develop essential life skills, and foster independence. Our goal is to create an inclusive and nurturing community that fosters growth and personal development.
Learners have an opportunity to engage in career exploration through:
•	Weekly Field Experiences
•	Volunteerism
•	Employment within The Monarch Enterprise System
•	Internships in the greater community 
Learners are supported in seeking long-term, sustainable, and suitable career placement that allows each student to become a self-sufficient and contributing member of his or her community.
Training Soft Skills
Employability training sessions cover soft skills using an array of teaching methods to include role play, video modeling, PowerPoint presentations, and dialogue, learning activities, group collaboration and more. Soft Skills cover the following skills: 
• Personal Care – Hygiene, appropriate attire, healthy diet, exercise/activities, SR/SR (The implementation of calming and self-regulation strategies and exercises. 
• Workplace Culture – Identifying workplace culture, adherence to company policy versus social behaviors, expected social language and engagement (Relationship Development) 
• Team Building – Working collaboratively, boundaries, managing discord (Self-Awareness/Self-Regulation, Professional Competency, Relationship Development) 
• Relationship Development – Hierarchical structure, boundaries, communication, attitude and respect 
• Professional Competency – Rules/Policies, staying on-task, maintaining attendance, problem solving and critical thinking 
• Resume Writing – Self-Awareness, bio, cover letter, grammar, format, focus/goals 
• Interview Training – Self-Awareness/Self-Regulation, professional competency skills, body language, social boundaries, professionalism 
• Job Coaching – Self-Awareness/Self-Regulation, professional competency, team building, understanding and working within the workplace culture 
 
Training Hard Skills
Hard Skills are offered through the following training sessions: 
• Business Center – Merchandising, Budgeting, Inventory control, marketing (accessing approved social media), and basic computer operations.
• Culinary Arts – Back of the House, Front of the House - Host/Hostess, Server, Table Bussing, Dish Washer, Kitchen Management &amp; Budgeting 
• Retail – Public relationships, merchandising, inventory, POS, managing customers, boundaries, inventory control, E-commerce (online vs. brick and mortar), daily sales, basic accounting, and profit/loss
• Consumer Math - Daily math skills in managing life’s activities; budgeting, making food choices at restaurant/grocery shopping, and making choices as a consumer (counting out money and change received). Self-Awareness/Self-Regulation, Executive Functioning, Academic Competency
