Anywhere: Thanksgiving Meal Food Drive thru 11.5.23

Seeds of Caring

Children will collect and donate food items to provide Thanksgiving meals for families experiencing food insecurity.

Who this Anywhere Project is for: Ages 2 to 12. Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org.What you'll be doing:Help Seeds Of Caring and <a href="https://www.thebyronsaundersfoundation.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Byron Saunders Foundation</a> make sure everyone has a special meal to celebrate Thanksgiving! In this project, children will explore food insecurity through age-appropriate discussion and then helping hands will decorate cheer cards and collect non-perishable food items that will be distributed by The Byron Saunders Foundation. We will provide a donation flyer in your confirmation email to conduct your own food drive, if desired!When you'll be doing it:This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are!This project is on-going. Families and groups may participate anytime until the project ends on November 5th. Donations may be contact-free, porch-dropped from 9am - 7pm on November 3rd-5th at a Seeds of Caring volunteer's home in Lewis Center, Powell, Upper Arlington, Westerville, or Worthington. Addresses are provided in the service packet.How it all works:Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. If for some reason you cannot access this file, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org for assistance.The meaning-making:Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you'll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project's guided discussion focuses on service and hunger.Approximate Cost:Free if a food drive is conducted. For the cheer card, use craft supplies on hand or the printable template provided in the service packet.Why you'll be invited to donate:Every time we're able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it's with the help of supporters like you.
