A Grammy-winning engineer walks us through a track he mixed in both Stereo and Atmos

Thanks to <a href="https://www.sonarworks.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sonarworks</a> for allowing us to make this presentation free to the public.<a href="http://nichard.com/biography.html" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Nic Hard</a>'s career in music began in the mid '90s while DJ'ing in clubs and house parties throughout Philadelphia and later, London. On his return to the States, his resume began to take shape as he shifted gears focusing on studio recording and mixing. He quickly earned the position of head engineer at RPM Studios in New York City, a "Noah's Ark" of gear. In 2002 Nic went freelance when given the opportunity to record and co-produce The Church's Forget Yourself album in Sydney Australia.In 2016 Nic won a Grammy for his work on the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album “Culcha Vulcha” by Snarky Puppy. His catalog of work includes collaborations with world-renowned bands such as The Bravery, Aberdeen City and The Kin as well as up-and-coming acts such as The Ropes, Ghost Beach and The Perfects.WHAT IS MIXCON?MixCon is a free educational event for musicians and aspiring producers/mixing engineers. Its goal is to advise them on the art of mixing, the science it's based upon, and the techniques top engineers employ to shape the sounds in the directions they envision, and to make them coexist in a balanced fashion.
