Join us for upcoming events hosted by Traverse City social change agency Good Works Lab!

Elevate Northern Michigan is a bi-annual summit series focused on boosting knowledge, shifting attitudes, decreasing stigma, and building support for youth mental health by learning about: <ul><li>psychology/neuroscience</li><li>practical well-being tools</li><li>leadership skills</li></ul> All are welcome at the summit — particularly young people aged 16-24 – and those who love them. Our fifth Summit is 1-2:30p on Tuesday, November 29th at Northwestern Michigan College’s Innovation Center. We Fight is grateful for NMC’s and United Way of Northwest Michigan's support and sponsorship of Elevate Northern Michigan. <h3>Speakers for Elevate #5</h3> School-based, student-led, peer-to-peer mental health programs are the gold standard, and we're proud to have three such programs speaking at #5: - Trojans Unite (Central High School)- Tommy's First Mates (Glen Lake High School)- LIFT (Suttons Bay/Northport/Leland High Schools) <h3>Why Elevate?</h3> We Fight recently underwent a strategic visioning process to better accomplish its vision: a northern Michigan where everyone plays a role in protecting our kids’ mental health. The Elevate Summit series is one optimistic, science-based step toward that vision. "I hope that aspiring youth leaders leave this summit with a better understanding of the skills required to project their voice and tackle systemic change with the youthful determination that makes their advocacy so unique to begin with." — Will Unger, We Fight leadership team member and Central High School graduate <h3>Registration</h3> School tickets for students are free - registration is required as space is limited. General admission for community members is $8 - 100% of proceeds will benefit the presenting student groups. If your northern Michigan school is interested in sending students to the Summit, please let us know at ty@goodworkslab.org and we’ll hold seats for you.
