Georgia Randall returns for an encore performance at our December 1 First Friday Listening Room.

First Friday Listening Room Concert Series

This free concert series features local and regional musicians who perform a variety of different styles. The concerts are held on the First Friday of the month from September through May at Max across the street from the Fine Arts Center.

<p>Georgia Randall was born in Norfolk, Virginia.  She began singing gospel in the church at a young age and can barely remember the memories her grandmother shared of her being a featured vocalist in the church before even beginning elementary school. In addition to gospel music, her early influences were in soul and blues, listening to the likes of Etta James, Big Mama Thornton, Bessie Smith, and Billie Holiday. By the age of 15 Georgia had begun her professional career as a front singer and embraced the music of Motown, Rock &amp; Roll, and the San Francisco sound, along with her continued love of the blues. By age 17, Georgia left her Virginia home and hit the road fronting several rock &amp; roll and show bands. Many years later Georgia took a few guitar lessons so she could begin a solo career. Within 3 years of mostly teaching herself to play guitar she was booked weekly in Florida as a solo act. At the suggestion of a friend, she began to write her own music. With four albums released, Georgia has now returned to Virginia and continues to write and perform her music. Her current album, Hound Dog, has been charting on the Roots Music Report Top 50 albums since its release in February of 2021. Georgia’s voice has been compared to Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, and Melissa Etheridge but make no mistake, her style is all her own. </p>

<p>T﻿he concerts are held at the Fine Arts Center at 21 West Main Street in Pulaski, VA. Seating is limited, so please be sure to reserve your ticket ahead of time. The suggested donation for this event is $5, but everyone is welcome whether they donate or not. The music runs from 6-8 p.m. There will be light refreshments and a cash bar beginning at 5 p.m. There is street parking, and there are several lots within a block from the Center, one behind the Pulaski Theatre and one a block away by the Central Gym and County Administration Building.</p>
