Baila con Pasión, established in 2008, is a specialized Latin Dance company offering Salsa, Bachata, Bachatango and other Latin Dance classes and is now located in the beautiful Twin Cities!  Our previous locations are in Charlotte, North Carolina and Bavaro, Dominican Republic and Stuart, Florida!We offer group classes, private lessons and specialized workshops in Salsa, Bachata, Bachatango, Cha Cha and other Latin Dances in addition to many opportunities to dance socially and get to put what you learn in class to use on the dance floor!  Whether you wish to learn to dance socially or you wish to be a pro, we've got you covered! Whether you are brand new to Salsa, Bachata, Bachatango or are an experienced dancer looking to sharpen your skills and find your own style, we have a class for you.Our mission is to share the joy and passion that Latin Dance brings to life overall and to create a very unique community of Salseros, Bachateros, Bachatangueros that have a true passion for the art of dance. We want to unite dancers of all levels, expose them to world class training and allow them to experience the camaraderie that comes with being a part of the Baila con Pasión family.Under the direction of owner and artistic director, Cassandra de Mercedes and her husband Pedro and due to our devoted Salsa and Bachata communities, Baila con Pasión is quickly becoming the premier Latin Dance company in the Twin Cities  and was the premier Latin Dance Company in all of their locations, Charlotte, NC, Bavaro, Dominican Republic and the Treasure Coast of Florida! We are the only professional International Latin Dance company in the Midwest and the only World Mastery Academy from here to Chicago!We provide world class instruction that has a strong focus on technicality, musicality and styling and offer classes that range from very beginning level classes all the way up to our prestigious student, semi pro and pro World Team Project performing teams!Baila con Pasión is a part of the prestigious World Mastery Program bringing the best of the best curriculums to our academy, our students and our community.  Cassandra de Mercedes, our Director, is also a World Mastery Ambassador.  Our curriculum breaks steps down into families of steps making it easier to recognize and execute patterns and moves that can be combined easily based on partner skill level, partner height, and speed of song.Our curriculum, helps our students to learn and organize moves from basic to advanced in a structured manner that makes it easier to remember in class and on the dance floor and allows them to see the way that the moves connect.  This makes it easier for students to start to to come up with new patterns f their own and allows them the freedom to create their own style in each dance.Baila con Pasión’s Owner and Artistic Director, Cassandra de Mercedes is one of the few certified International instructors in multi time World Champions' Adrian and Anita's World Mastery Curriculum as well as the World Renowned Fernando Sosa World Mastery Curriculum, SOSA Style Salsa. Academia deBaila con Pasión is the only professional Latin dance academy in the Twin Cities and in Minnesota and our Director is the only Instructor in Minnesota that teaches at Congresses and Festivals around the world.Cassandra and her husband, Pedro, who is from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, bring Authentic Dominican Bachata and the other Dominican dances to Minnesota and the midwest straight from Santo Domingo.  Having had a school in Bavaro Dominican Republic, they are the only instructors in Minnesota that teach the true, authentic Bachata straight from the island.  They also offer a yearly dance and cultural immersion vacation called BachaTour! withBaila con Pasión every October that is a trip unlike any other.Our Director has dedicated her entire life to her career in dance and has traveled the world studying with various world champions bringing what she learns, back to our community.We strive to bring the joy and passion of Latin dance to anyone who wants to learn! Her husband Pedro handles all management and booking as well as stage set creation and design for their larger productions. They are extremely proud to be one of the prestigious World Mastery academies and Cassandra is a World Mastery Ambassador.Cassandra began dancing professionally at the age of 13 and has spent nearly 3 decades in the entertainment industry working as both a professional dancer and a professional singer. She is classically trained in ballet, ballroom and Latin dance but upon discovering her love and passion for Latin dance specifically Salsa, Bachata, Bachatango and Cha-Cha, they became her sole career focus.Cassandra has taught thousands of students from Minneapolis, MN to Washington DC to Charlotte, NC to Santo Domingo Dominican Republic and everywhere in between and has been a featured instructor at the largest and most prestigious Bachata Congress in the world for several years running and is booked already for next year, The Washington DC Bachata Congress. She is currently booked to teach at Salsa and Bachata Congresses all over the world and she and her partner were one of few select couples from all over South, Central and North Americas that were invited to compete in the Americas Bachata Masters competition for an opportunity to represent the USA at the finals in Spain in February of 2013.An accomplished dancer, performer and choreographer, Cassandra brings a rare joy and insatiable passion to the dance floor along with her own elegant and graceful style of Salsa and Bachata. As an instructor, Cassandra has a very strong technical emphasis in her teaching, which ensures that her students become extremely well rounded dancers. Her passion for life in general along with her passion for Salsa and Bachata is truly contagious! She continues her own training with regular private instruction from World Champion salsa coaches Abel Pena and Zulmara Torres, Cristian Oviedo, Liz Lira, Edie the Salsa Freak, and multi time world champions Adrian and Anita and Fernando Sosa.
