Join us for a special Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead celebration! We'll kick the evening off with complimentary refreshments and a happy hour exhibit of our Community Altar. Following that, we'll move into the attached 'Blue Room' space for The Final Curtain: An Open-Mic Night on Death, Dying, and Grief. <ul><li>4﻿-5 pm Community Altar Exhibit Happy Hour: Mix and mingle, eat and drink, and engage with our Community Altar. Learn more below about how you can contribute to the Community Altar before or during this program.</li><li>5﻿-6 pm The Final Curtain Open-Mic: Stick around for a death, dying, and grief themed open-mic night. Together we’ll embrace losses and mortality, grieve, and – ultimately – celebrate life and hope. Each act will be given up to five minutes to perform/share – no professional experience required. We had some performers sign up in advance, and any space at the end will be open for additional performers. Spectators welcome! </li></ul>Grab a friend, or come solo and meet friends, and gather 'round for art, poetry, prose, music, and more! Stop by for any portion of the program. Registration is NOT required but encouraged -- we'd love to know if you're coming so we have enough refreshments and can send you friendly reminders! **Contribute to our Community Altar before or during the program! ** We invite you to stop by the Avenidas lobby anytime between Monday, October 23rd to Friday, November 3rd -- open weekdays from 9-5pm. Add a photo, memento, and/or note to the altar space as a way to honor and remember your departed ancestors and loved ones. The front desk team would be happy to make photocopies for you, if needed, and answer any questions!
