A collection of the 2023 in-person events which require a ticket. All Flagstaff Festival of Science events are free and only a portion requires a reservation.

Learn approaches to Astrophotography in a combined classroom and field-based workshop with astrophotographer John Gartin. Workshop meets at CCA and travels to Buffalo Park to photograph the night sky. Participants will learn how to use their own camera settings, the impact of different camera settings, foreground composition, site scouting, apps &amp; online resources, different astrophotography approaches and how to post-process photographs. Equipment required. You will need the following:
*DSLR Camera
--basic/entry-level cameras with interchangeable lenses are completely acceptable
--please play with your manual mode before our course including changing shutter speed, setting the FStop, and adjusting your ISO
*Lenses--a lower F-Stop is more ideal &lt;F3.5, and a kit lens is fine
*Tripod
*Headlamp (please with a red light if possible)
Suggested (but not necessary) Equipment:
*IR Remote Release or Intervalometer
*Extra Camera Battery
*Large Memory Card
*Comfortable &amp; Sturdy Shoes
*Clothing Layers
*Snack
