If you would like to arrange your own screening of the film as soon as it's available for free please send Carmen a note to that effect so we can make sure you get an early link to the movie.We appreciate your interest and efforts to spread the word on using the film to fight for justice and safety.-﻿----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please join Brave New Films and The Intercept for the San Francisco Premiere of ‘BEYOND BARS,’ a new documentary from Robert Greenwald, director of “Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch’s War on Journalism” and “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price.” The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Chesa Boudin, The Intercept Political Reporter Akela Lacy, Brave New Films' President and "Beyond Bars" Director Robert Greenwald, and featured film guests Gloria Berry and Joseph Bell, Jr. ‘BEYOND BARS’ exposes the punitive and traumatic impact of mass incarceration on children, families, and communities. The film simultaneously tells the story of progressive legal reformers who fight for public safety and resist the unjust and racist system designed to lock people up. The film follows the turbulent and ultimately restorative growth of a family impacted by forced carceral separation. Chesa Boudin is only 14 months old when condemned to only see his parents behind bars, an experience that is life altering and fuels his pursuit to change the system and win election as San Francisco’s District Attorney.
