MAPP hosting a film celebration of local culinary talent honoring the work of Thistle Farms

MAPP will be hosting the red carpet premiere of the film that started it all, A Fine Line, which Vanity Fair called "Best Documentary by a First-Time Filmmaker", celebrating women chefs and sparking national conversations for equality in professional kitchens this October 10th at the Cafe at Thistle Farms.Kick off the evening with an appetizer reception featuring leading Nashville chefs followed by the screening of A Fine Line. Closing out the evening, there will be a panel conversation led by Kirbee Miller Founder of Kirbee +Co. and featuring leading voices in the Nashville culinary community including: Thistle Farms, Blackberry Farm, Chef Charlotte Miller, and Chef Star Maye. MAPP will be partnering with Thistle Farms to provide scholarship tickets and educational/ MAPP mentorship memberships and spotlight their incredible work, supporting survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction through housing and employment. T﻿ickets are $55 which includes the food reception, screening, panel conversation and support of Thistle Farms.

C﻿hef Star MayeIs the Owner of upcoming concept Ellen’s 1929, Author of A Star Among Us, Veteran, and Mother. She followed her passion in culinary at the age of 29 working food service gigs all across the country including cooking at fishing camps in Alaska. It wasn’t until less than a decade ago, and nearly switching careers did she land at Anzie Blue, where she found immense success being a culinary hotspot and was called the best brunch spot in Nashville. Now she has released her own book, with proceeds going to the Trevor Project to support mental health care for LGBTQIA+ Youth and is working on her own concept and is the chef at Cafe Momentum in Nashville.
