Join us for a hybrid conversation discussing the book, Touched Out, and how it intersects with the concept of Matrescence

J﻿oin us for the second installment of our TC Fall Book Talk Series for a live in-person/online conversation and Q&amp;A with renowned writer Amanda Montei discussing her new book, Touched Out: Motherhood, Misogyny, Consent and Control (Beacon Press, 2023), and how her work intersects with the concept of Matrescence. Hosted by Khora, the Maternal &amp; Reproductive Psychology Lab at Teachers College, Columbia University in collaboration with TC&#x27;s Gottesman Libraries. This live hybrid discussion will take place both in-person at TC&#x27;s Gottesman Libraries at 306 Russell, as well as online via Zoom. Dr. Aurélie Athan, a reproductive psychologist and Research Professor in the Department of Counseling &amp; Clinical Psychology at Teachers College who specializes in reproductive identity, the reproductive mind, and the developmental transition to motherhood, will moderate.This TC Book Talk is FREE and open to all (including those outside of the TC community!). She is the author, most recently, of Touched Out: Motherhood, Misogyny, Consent, and Control, out from Beacon Press in September. Her essays and criticism have appeared at Slate, Mother Tongue, Vox, HuffPost, Electric Literature, The Believer, The Rumpus, Ms. Magazine blog, American Book Review, and others. She is currently a lecturer at California State University East Bay.
