The ProX team shares some of the successes and challenges of building the summer internship program and how schools can use those lessons to develop their school-year program. Topics include: Coaching students, setting expectations with employers and creating parent and student-friendly language.Preparing Students with the Professional Skills needed for internshipsLearn from districts that have successfully implemented internships within their regular course catalog and how they prepare their students with the professional skills to succeed. Led by Dustin Sollars - Liberty Network 53, Jonathan Hart - Lee’s Summit, Polly Vader - Piper Transportation An ongoing challenge for connecting students to internships during the school year is transportation. This session will include a presentation on the Connect KC App that was piloted with more than 75 ProX interns this past summer, as well as learning from one another on how districts are solving transportation issues. Conversation led by Kari Keefe, KC Digital Digital DriveEd Camp - Gather in small groups in town hall on topics of your choosing11:30 am – Lunch 12:00 pm - Preview of student voice &amp; student ambassador programs12:15 pm - Breakout #2 Health PathwaysDistricts share and discuss lessons learned and best practices on providing experiences for students interested in careers in healthcare. RWL team will share out pilot programs in process and how we are working as a region to solve placement challenges. Led by Christy Collins - NKC, Ryan Flurry - SMSD, Colleen Jones - Liberty, Brian Nollar – Platte Co., Jennifer Bauer – Blue ValleyBig Takeaways at Big Bang Educators share actionable activities and resources gained from the Big Bang Conference hosted in KC this past summer. Topics include community engagement, discovering student passions, and ensuring equitable access for all. Crystal Everett, Kionna Dickerson, Stacey Holtzclaw, Nikki Scott, Rachel Piper  The DeBruce Foundation Agile Work Profiler (AWP) Hear from local teachers who are making the most of the DeBruce Foundation’s Agile Work Profiler (AWP) as a career exploration tool and an aid in helping students tell their RWL story via resumes and LinkedIn accounts. This interactive session will share activities you can use and show how student growth in internships can effectively be measured. You’ll walk away with REAL WORLD educational resources you can use! Presented by Leigh Anne Taylor Knight, Kristie Larson, Cindy Schluckebier, Shannan Mulcahey, and Emmy BerryEd Camp - gather in small groups around topics of your choosing.1:00 – 1:45 pm – Student Voice &amp; Student Ambassadors share with their Action Adults - RWL Coordinators, counselors, teachers, etc. (Troost &amp; Brookside - invite-only for space limitations).1:45 pm – Closing2:00 pm - Network / District Work Time
