P﻿eace and love, this fashion show will be a vibe!B﻿efore you begin to read about this event, Sound of Fashion Week CT, Melanin Project CT, June Archer and The June Archer Foundation would like to thank Ella Burr McManus Trust for the use of the Alfred E Burr Memorial aka Burr Mall.M﻿elanin Project CT is a collective of Black visual creatives based in CT or are originally from CT who come together to create viral editorial works of art or magazine content. &quot;Black&quot; meaning, representing the multitude of countries, ethnicities and cultures created from the African diaspora. Our visual works have been featured from the cover page of the Hartford Courant to 27 international nations who has appreciated our works over the years.T﻿his show will feature innovative Black fashion creatives found throughout Mass/CT/NY/NJ along side beautifully melanated models with natural hair hitting our runway. FASHION IS BLACK! This is an ode to all the Black fashion creatives throughout the world who have been exploited, robbed of their creations and pushed off of the runways internationally. To only be the driving force behind, within and standing in front of major fashion institutions globally.T﻿he Origin of Melanin is the recognition of where the Melanin Project CT was born. It started with a conversation based on the lack of representation in the fashion industry all across Connecticut and globally. T﻿his fashion show will take place outdoors at the Burr Mall known for the red stegosaurus sculpture, located between The Wadsworth Museum and Hartford City Hall.
