TheNorthwest Side Community Development Corporation(NWSCDC) is a 501(c)3 agency that has served the community economic development needs of Milwaukee’s low-income communities since its founding in 1983. The NWSCDC assists with neighborhood strategic planning to improve quality of life, urban redevelopment planning and real estate development on the Northwest Side to spur business growth and the creation of new jobs.Throughout our 38-year history, the NWSCDC has innovated and adapted to changes in the community and economic development landscape. Since the year 2000, NWSCDChas lent over $10 millionto several major catalytic projects on the Northwest Side since 2000. Celebrate the long-awaited completion of Green Tech Station, and check out some of the new site features and artwork!

Green Tech Station

You&#x27;re invited to join residents, stakeholders, partners, and funders for an official Grand Opening event at <a href="https://www.nwscdc.org/planning-green-tech" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Green Tech Station</a> on Thursday, September 28 from 10am - 11:30am. The event will be held outside under the pavilion at Green Tech Station (4101 N. 31st St).While Green Tech Station had a soft-opening/open house for educators and organizations in July 2021, the project team is now ready to showcase the site being complete with solar panels, test cells, active research, art installations, and the 30th Street Industrial Corridor’s first <a href="https://www.watermarksmke.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">WaterMarker</a>. The Grand Opening is an opportunity to celebrate completion of the project, thank our supporters, highlight the new artwork installations, and emphasize that the site is open and available for field trips and tours (free of charge).We&#x27;ll have a speaking program starting at 10:30am featuring a few key supporters, partners, and Mayor Johnson. The event will also include a ribbon cutting, a site tour after remarks are complete, refreshments, and stations with information on some of Green Tech Station&#x27;s features. The event is free and open to the public.
