No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Click here to join today.</a></p><h2>Poetry In Motion: Contemplative Flow Yoga</h2><h3>Domains: Body Work, Contemplative Practice</h3><p>Anyone who practices yoga knows that the poses, or asanas, can help you develop greater balance, strength, and flexibility. What you’ve probably discovered is that these benefits accrue not only for your physical body, but for your mind, heart, and spirit as well. Of course! The word “yoga” is derived from Sanskrit and means “yoking” or “union” – it is all about bringing harmony between body and mind, leading ultimately to the union of individual with universal consciousness.</p><p>Niki Pappas is offering a new in-person yoga class for those who want to add mindfulness and contemplation to their yoga flow. Join her at the Hive for a four-week experience including circle sharing, breathwork, a gentle-to-moderate flowing practice, and a generous savasana. Each 60-minute class will include one or two poems to ground and expand your experience, and music. The sequences in this 4-week introductory series will contain core elements to provide the comfort of consistency, as well as unique elements to build skills and confidence.</p><p>This class will best serve those with at least moderate yoga experience, and class size will be limited to 10 participants. Please bring your favorite yoga mat, water bottle, and perhaps a hand towel. Extra mats and blankets are available at the Hive. Contact Niki with any questions at niki.t.pappas@gmail.com</p><p>Niki Pappas has been focusing on holistic wellness and psychospiritual growth in her second half of life, following a first-half career in marketing research. Her endeavors have included certifications for holistic health coaching, yoga, Thai bodywork, and currently, the Enneagram. Niki has been involved with the Hive since May 2018 as an eager class participant, facilitator, cohort guide, member of the lead team, and (since April 2023), advisory board member. Leading with Enneagram Type 4, Niki is committed to her own inner work and to supporting others on their journey.</p><h3>Covid Considerations: Masks are currently optional at the Hive. Individuals may choose to wear a mask for personal protection, and as always, we ask anyone who is feeling sick or has a high temperature to not attend until they are recovered.
