On background, I'm a long time television anchor in New York. My beat was business news and I covered the markets from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange for 17 years for CNN, Bloomberg, ABC, CBS and NY1.I started the Women's Leadership Lab, a networking platform. I did it because it s just really hard --as women-- to find a support system that s multi-faceted, one that can be a sounding board, both professionally and personally, and also can be funding resource. With the Women's Leadership Lab, I host events giving women--especially South Asian women----that kind of support system. It gives them community and resources, and the support of like-minded women. My five year goal is host events in every major city of the world and be a wonderful resource to the skilled and successful women currently in my membership. My website is www.joyadass.com

The Town School

In 2016, I co hosted a 10 week storytelling workshop. 7 everyday women, who had never taken a mic before, took to a New York City stage and told incredibly powerful personal stories. Of loss. Of grief. Of coming of age. Afterwards, the audience flooded the stage and said, "I see myself in your story. I just never had the courage to tell it."7 women on that evening in 2016, came into 10 weeks of training, thinking they were going to tell stories. They left that evening ----as leaders. The women in my 2023 Mastermind class are already leaders. Leaders in business. Leaders in gemology. Leaders in non profit. They have been building a powerful personal brand with me all year. Each is sharing a lesson on leadership with you on the evening of November 16th, 2023My name is Joya Dass. For 20 years, I was a news anchor on mainstream TV. Today, I head up a business Mastermind called the "Samita Lab Mastermind""Samita" in my native language means "summit"The "Summit" of their year's work is this Tedx style event.
