Join our Special Collections team for an online series of "Deep Dives"—informative, enticing, and educational looks into a selection of images that are representative of materials in our collections. Learn more about what we collect, how and why we do it, and get a glimpse into the fascinating world of rare books, manuscripts, and archives at the University Libraries.

ART FOR THE PEOPLEA History of Illustration Techniques in Books and Popular MediaJoin us as we showcase notable materials from the department of Special Collections that were once printed to be distributed widely, such as popular books, children&#x27;s primers, broadsides and pamphlets, and posters and advertisements.Special Collections Librarian Robin Potter Nolasco will discuss the history of illustration printing techniques and their many uses to make and reproduce images. Robin will also explore the ways images were used alongside texts to influence, entertain, and inspire the public.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERRobin Potter Nolasco joined the University Libraries in 2023 as Special Collections librarian and public services coordinator for the Kislak Center at the University of Miami. She provides teaching, outreach, and reference assistance related to the Libraries&#x27; extraordinary distinctive collections to students, faculty, and visiting researchers.
