About this event

  • 3 hours

This workshop is REQUIRED for all C2Adopt families in the home study assessment process. Clients of C2Adopt can attend trainings for free. We also keep our trainings open for community members, professionals and families affiliated with other agencies. We ask that anyone who is not a C2Adopt client consider providing a donation through our website (www.c2adopt.org) that reflects the value you felt you received from the training.

So many times adoptees, birth/first parents, kinship, foster and adoptive parents find themselves in a place of wondering: Is this about adoption or not? The 7 Core Issues in Adoption(Roszia & Silverstein) help provide a framework for understanding the ways in which adoption impacts folks over their lifetime and how to better understand and manage those issues as they surface.

There will be added focus and conversation on the importance of openness in adoption, highlighting the myriad ways that openness can be supported and offered, and the mental health benefits to all involved.

Join Rebecca Ricardo, LCSW, Executive Director of C2Adopt and birth/first parent and adult adoptee to learn more!
