Wine Tasting at Light Years

Small Places is a 501(c)(3) that uses high impact urban farms in under-resourced neighborhoods to provide and foster the tools to cultivate health at every level for every person regardless of age, income, race, gender, or circumstance.For the last 8 years, Small Places has been cultivating fruits, vegetables, and herbs just east of Downtown in between the historic 2nd Ward and Magnolia Park neighborhoods through their urban farm, Finca Tres Robles.  Uniquely striving to keep 100% of its produce in the East End a low income, low access community, “Finca” focuses on serving their immediate neighborhoods by distributing freshly grown and harvested produce directly to individuals and families.

<p>“The soil is the great connector of lives…” — Wendell Berry</p><p>Join us at <a href="https://www.lightyearswine.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Light Years Winery</a> to explore the ways soil connects people, place, food, and wine. Learn about our farm's 40-year vision, our monthly giving program and discover how you can (re)commit to joining the <a href="https://smallplaces.org/about/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Small Places</a> journey this year.</p><p>We are so excited to be unveiling our first ever monthly giving program- The Perennials. We invite you to become an essential part of our efforts to grow food for and with our community, fostering a healthier and more equitable future.</p><p>Door prizes include Wendell Berry anthologies, local compost, seeds for your garden and specially selected soil-conscious wines.</p>

<h1>O﻿ur Partners: Light Years Natural Wine Shop + Bar</h1><p>Carrying only natural wines, Light Years represents a shift from your standard bottle of wine. </p><p>While wine is renowned for it's connection to place, tradition, and soil, co-founders, John and Steve, have taken that to the next level in their shop. Their shelves are stocked with an amazing diversity of wines grown from  grapes without pesticides, often hand-picked only using natural yeast fermentation and no other additives in the process.</p><p>The shop’s approximately 200 different bottles bring flavors and tastes from the world's most eclectic and established wine regions. Even if you're not a wine aficionado, they will help you find a wine you love.</p><p>We're excited to partner with others who care about the place, people, process, and end products of growing food/drink.</p><p></p><h1></h1>
