We’ll share through film the spirit and inspiration of women wave riders from around the globe. Surfing is our passion. As women surfers, we share a special connection through our mutual love for the ocean and the creative energy sparked by celebrating our adventure stories. The Women’s Surf Film Festival aims to generate awareness of this special subculture and the local businesses that support them.

Welcome to the 10th Annual Women's Surf Film Festival! Join us in celebrating a decade of empowering stories and surf culture.

We ask that you register for this free event so that we can provide you with updates &amp; reminders. No tickets will be required. The upcoming group art show features three exhibiting artists and their distinct projects. <a href="https://www.gabriellaangojo.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a><a href="https://natureofsurfwomen.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ivana Bajic</a>, a multimedia producer based in Los Angeles, is recognized for her innovative blending of art and technology. She is the author and producer of the interactive book &quot;Nature of Surf Women,&quot; a project that marries visual storytelling with the immersive elements of nature sounds and audio interviews. Featuring a diverse group of 30 women surfers of various ages and backgrounds, the book weaves their stories into a mosaic that celebrates the beauty and strength of the female body. QR codes within the book connect readers to interviews, sounds of nature, and songs, immersing them in the lives and experiences of these exceptional women.<a href="https://www.lifeofrileynyc.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Marie Riley</a>, a photographer residing in Rockaway Beach, New York, specializes in capturing the essence of the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop to her photography and narratives. Her work spans surf, landscape, wildlife, coastal lifestyle, travel, and water-related subjects. With a knack for uncovering unique stories that resonate universally, Riley&#x27;s ongoing project focuses on celebrating the waves of New York through a love of water photo series. Her work has been featured in various notable publications, showcasing her ability to connect people through her outdoor-focused lens. The show, titled &quot;Queens,&quot; revolves around the captivating world of female surfers conquering the dynamic waves of New York City, providing an inspiring visual exploration of their strength and diversity.Alexandra R ChavesAlexandra N. Rodríguez Chaves, an architect and illustrator, graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras, blending her architectural background into her vibrant art. From psychedelic-style drawings, she has evolved to focus on spatial concepts in her illustrations. Alexandra draws inspiration from architectural greats and Puerto Rican female artists. She aspires to return to painting and mixed media and is dedicated to boosting Puerto Rico&#x27;s art scene. Her advice to budding artists: persist and believe in your dreams. Alexandra envisions traveling the world to explore architectural styles and bringing her designs to life. Her ultimate goal is to establish an architecture and design firm.The artist&#x27;s work are available for sale.Group Art Show - Charity Virtual Online Auction The Women’s Surf Film Festival is hosting a virtual silent art auction to raise funds for <a href="https://awalkonwater.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">A Walk on Water</a>, a non-for-profit group that provides life-changing surf therapy to children with unique needs and their families. The group art exhibition is a collection of art pieces created on single surfboard fins, skateboards and a surfboard, by both established and up-and-coming artists from across the country. The artwork will be on display at The Rockaway Beach Surf Club for during the week of the festival. The online silent auction will be active during the week of the Festival (September 4-9th). Bidding commences on Monday, September 4th, and concludes on Saturday, September 9th, 2023. Come and have a great time celebrating the amazing work of the local artists, and make a bid , it’s for a worthy cause. We will publish the website for the auction, early September. Premiere&#x27;Unplugged&#x27; a short film about a group of friends exploring untouched nature in Baja, searching for quiet waves and freedom.
