Roberto Povedais a uniqueartist, presently living in vibrant New York City where he draws inspiration from the enormous melting pot of cultural, visual, and sound impressions. Poveda’s music is recognized both for its understated, sensual sounds and for its humorous and profound lyrics. With family roots in the Cuban Troubadour tradition,Povedahoned his craft writing songs on the porches of Havana’s La Vibora neighborhood. His talent was recognized and he performed at the prestigious National Theater, during a period in which he engaged with the politicizedNueva Trovamovement.

The Troubadour of Brooklyn is happy to announce another concert with a new batch of troubadours on August 16, 2019, at Frost Theatre of the Arts, starting at 8:00PM! This time around, the TOB will continue exploring diverse and unique trova perspectives from different parts of NYC, all of them connected to the world. The Troubadour of Brooklyn Line-Up Frank Gonzalez (www.frankgonzalez.com) Cuba-NJ. Trova made on the other side of the river with sounds of far away cities but always near your heart. Joyful msic for this rare and complicated times. Se habla Español. Bob Gaulke (www.bobgaulke.bandcamp.com) An American-Iranian songwriter based in the Bronx, who teaches when he’s not writing or playing. Bob has a lot of songs in his catalog that he considers being heavily influenced by Brazilian, French, and English traditions. Roberto Poveda (www.robertopoveda.com) Cuban-American troubadour based in Brooklyn that plays an infectious and very compelling Latin sound with influences from bolero, salsa, rumba, samba, hip-hop, and jazz.
