A one-day live, online workshop led by Jo Boaler for middle school educators (access to event recording and resources included with ticket).

Join Jo Boaler and the youcubed team online to learn how to engage all students through open, in-depth and connected content!Big Ideas raise individual standards to a higher level so that students can learn mathematics as a meaningful subject of connected ideas. This approach has been shown by research to engage students and increase achievement and is the best approach for teaching heterogeneous groups of students. In this 1-day live online event, we explore the Big Ideas for this grade level and how to use them to teach students in an engaging way, while covering all relevant mathematical standards. The workshop focuses on Grades 6-8 but is appropriate for any teacher, leader or administrator in the middle years of K-12 education.The workshop will begin at 8:30 am Pacific Time and end at 3:00 pm Pacific Time, with a lunch break approximately 30 minutes long in the middle. Participants will receive a certificate verifying 6 Professional Development Hours (.6 CEU).TO REGISTER FOR THE WORKSHOP USING A PURCHASE ORDER, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO: PDINFO@YOUCUBED.ORGPlease note that each participant must log into the workshop individually, from their own device, to be admitted to the workshop. We encourage teams of educators from the same school or district to participate in the workshop together, and we offer discounted tickets for groups of 2 or more, but to be admitted to the Zoom each team member must have a ticket associated with their name. If multiple people from your school or district are planning to attend this workshop, please create a group order using the "Get Tickets" button on this page, and add the number of people attending to your cart. You will then be prompted to provide information about the attendees during checkout, which will enable them to each be admitted individually to the workshop.All registered participants will receive an email one week before the workshop with a Zoom link and password. After the event, we will provide a recording and a link to all slides or other resources used in the workshop . This post-workshop email will be sent to all registered participants, regardless of whether they logged into the event (so even participants who aren’t able to attend the event live on the scheduled dates will still receive the recording and workshop materials).
