The Washington, DC Chapter was founded over 70 years ago and is part of the oldest and largest Asian American civil rights organization in the United States.  The JACL monitors and responds to issues that enhance or threaten the civil and human rights of all Americans.  The JACL is committed to securing and maintaining the cvil rights of all Americans.  The DC Chapter partners with local, regional, national, and international organizations to build a network of support through educational, cultural, and social events.

Cabin John Group Picnic Area

The Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) DC Chapter is hosting our annual Keiro Kai and Family Day, where we honor and celebrate our senior members, on Sunday, September10 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the Cabin John Group Picnic Area, 7701 Tuckerman Lane, Potomac, Maryland 20854 (same location as last year). The Keiro Kai will be held rain or shine. Join us for a fun-filled afternoon including a delicious meal, &quot;Getting to Know You Bingo,&quot; games for younger children, and connect with old friends and meet new ones! Our &quot;top chefs&quot; will serve teriyaki chicken, Hawaiian style Kalua pork, sushi, roasted veggies, and desserts. The park is wheelchair accessible. The picnic site includes a playground and green space, so feel free to bring sports equipment (balls, frisbee, cornhole, etc.). All are welcome to attend! There is no cost to JACL members. Non-members pre-pay $10 on Eventbrite or $20 at the door.
