Fiber Arts Festival Omaha!INDIGO-KATAZOME &amp; MOMIGAMIAre you looking for a creative outlet that connects you with nature&#x27;s wonders? Indigo dyeing offers a unique and rewarding experience like no other. Not only will you learn the ancient art of transforming fabric into stunning shades of blue, but you will also immerse yourself in the Japanese-inspired tradition of katazome, where a rice paste is applied through a stencil onto fabric, in our case silk, to create textile art. This workshop gives you the opportunity to witness the magical transformation that occurs as mere fabric submerges into a vat of dye, then reappearing in breathtakingly rich hues of blue. Plus, you will learn the intricate art of folding, crumpling, and shaping paper into momigami, a paper that can behave like cloth. This is a two-day workshop. On day one we’ll prepare the paste and the silk before applying it to our prepared silk using stencils. While our paste is steaming, we’ll make Japanese-inspired momigami, a specialty art paper that behaves like cloth. On day two we’ll decorate our momigami and before finished our Katazome using, the natural dye, indigo. Materials/Equipment/Supplies: All materials included. If desired, a pair of gloves, an apron and wear clothing you don’t mind getting soiled. This is a Two-Day workshop. Day One: Saturday, August 12, 2023, 5:30-8pm. Day Two: Sunday, August 13, 2023, 5:30-8pm.Workshop: $65.00Class Limit: There is class minimum of three for this class to take place. A maximum of four. **As this is a service all sales are final. There are no refunds. No experience necessary. **
