Fall Baylands Bioblitz with Environmental Volunteers

The Environmental Volunteers promotes a love for science and nature through hands-on education activities delivered in local classrooms and through community events held at the EcoCenter, our home base located in the Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve.

Join the EV in a Baylands Bioblitz, where we see how many plants and animals we can find in a day!

Saturday, October 14th 9:00 am to 11:00 amJoin the <a href="https://www.bioblitz.club/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">BioBlitz.club</a> and <a href="https://www.environmentalvolunteers.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Environmental Volunteers</a> for a Fall BioBlitz in the Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve and Byxbee Park. Fall is a wonderful time for migrating birds. Join us to learn about some of our native and non-native species, become a community scientist and help us collect scientific data. Please bring a digital camera or smartphone. Download the<a href="https://www.inaturalist.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> free iNaturalist</a> smartphone app prior to the program and create a free account prior to the event. Instructions on the Bioblitz and how to join the 2023 project will be sent prior to event, and will also be available a printed guide for the day of. Help the City of Palo Alto document the biodiversity of this great preserve.  We will have families check in at the EcoCenter and then embark to record as many plants and animals as possible. Volunteers will be on site to take small groups/families who would like to learn more about plants, insects, birds, or how to use<a href="https://www.inaturalist.org/home" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> iNaturalist</a>.
