A ten-month series of workshops in inland Mendocino designed to empower nonprofit teams with the fundamental skills for success and inspire a vibrant network of change makers.

Did you ever wish you could pick the brain of a nonprofit finance professional? This session is for you! The workshop will provide practical strategies to strengthen your fund accounting and cost allocation, budget forecasting, reporting, and compliance--presented by a local expert in auditing and nonprofit finances. You&#x27;ll have the chance to engage in interactive discussions, ask questions, and learn from real-life case studies designed to enhance your financial literacy and empower you to succeed!
John Hansen is a retired CPA who has lived in Mendocino County since 1976. His professional experience includes financial management positions in the banking, wine, manufacturing and forest products industries as well as the non-profit sector, where John served as controller and acting executive director for North Coast Opportunities and a board member for the Ukiah Community Center. While working as a public accountant, John developed special expertise in auditing and advising non-profit organizations. John earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University. John joined the Community Foundation in 2020.
