Our location is on 60+ acres of open space and forested nature preserve in Brookhaven, NY, which Is owned by the Town of Brookhaven and Suffolk County.  CEED serves children, youth and adults through public nature programs and events, school and community-based environmental education, conservation projects, live animal ambassadors and more!

Enjoy the open day and the live indigo and natural dyeing demonstrations at CEED.D﻿uring the day, you will have the opportunity to view demonstrations by both Oksana Danziger and Bernadette Puleo. B﻿ernadette with Indigo Dyeing techniques schedule:<ul><li>1﻿2:00 - 12:30 Set up a Fructose Vat. Explain what a reduction vat Is. </li><li>1﻿2:30 - 1:30 Demo the following: 1. Mini Aqueous Extraction Method 2. Fresh Leaf Dye on Silk and Cotton 3. Hapazome and 4. Coloring with Leaves</li><li>1﻿:30 - 2:00 Test Vat to see If ready</li><li>2﻿:00 - 3:00 Demo shibori techniques, demo anothe aqueous extraction</li><li>3﻿:00 - 4:00 Review and discuss the different samples</li></ul>O﻿ksana with Eco-printing techniques schedule:<ul><li>1﻿2:00 -12:30 Tour of Garden</li><li>1﻿2:30 - 1:00 Demonstration of Ecoprinting bundle making with leaves and flowers</li><li>1﻿:00 - 1:30 Natural dye, samples dyeing with natural mordants like Ferrous sulfate, Cream of Tartar , and Vinegar</li><li>1﻿:30 - 2:00 Opening the bundle, explanation of effects and texture</li><li>2﻿:00 - 2:30 Tour of Garden</li><li>2﻿:30 - 3:00 Demonstration of Ecoprinting bundle making with leaves and flowers</li><li>3﻿:00 -3:30 Natural dye, samples dyeing with natural mordants like Ferrous sulfate, Cream of Tartar, and Vinegar</li><li>3﻿:30 - 4:00 Opening the bundle, explanation of effects and texture</li></ul>This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Huntington Arts Council
