Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroitis an internationally-acclaimed creative youth development program. Its mission is to empower young people to maximize their potential through professional performing arts training and the creation of theatrical and musical art that engages, transforms and inspires.Mosaic’s award-winning performanceshave toured Africa, Asia, Europe and 25 states throughout the U.S. At the 2014 World Choir Games in Latvia, Mosaic brought home two gold and two silver medals.Mosaic alumsare noted and award-winningentertainers and professionals.Every person who’s passed through Mosaic makes up the fabric of our success.

Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit is excited to announce the fourth annual New Voices Detroit Festival. The festival showcases original plays and compositions written by Detroit area teens, directed by professional theater artists, and performed by young professionals at the Detroit Public Theatre. This year&#x27;s theme is Lost in Time. Join us to celebrate this new generation of artists, ambassadors, and advocates for a thriving Detroit enriched by arts and culture.About New Voices: DetroitCreating pathways for the next generation of prolific storytellers, Mosaic&#x27;s New Voices: Detroit empowers Detroit-area youth to be the authors of new narratives. Youth submit concepts for short plays or songs for an opportunity to be paired with a professional mentor who helps them cultivate the skills needed to move from ideation to actualization. Youth whose work is showcased receive a cash prize.New Voices Detroit gives youth opportunities to:<ul><li>Explore off-stage creative careers</li><li>Develop skills to turn their ideas into original works of art</li><li>Tell the stories that are important to them and</li><li>Amplify new voices</li><li>Build new audiences for arts and culture</li><li>Diversify the fields of playwriting, choral composition, and performance.</li></ul>
