The University of Maryland Extension is hosting FREE Home Energy Workshops across the state! Register for a workshop near you to discover practical strategies to improve your home energy performance or design a solar power system that meets your needs.

Are you thinking about a home improvement project to reduce your energy bills? Or have you thought about going solar, but don’t know if it will pay off? If so, you&#x27;ll want to join this FREE Home Energy Workshop offered by the University of Maryland Extension. The workshop will explore practical, cost-effective, and innovative strategies to improve your home energy performance or design a solar power system that will meet your needs. Extension Specialists and industry reps will provide valuable info to help improve your home’s energy-efficiency and determine if solar works for you. Topics will include:<ul><li>Heating &amp; Cooling: Should I switch to a heat pump?</li><li>Sustainable Design: Are new windows worth the cost?</li><li>Lighting &amp; Electronics: Do I need a new appliance?</li><li>Incentives &amp; Financing: When are IRA incentives available?</li><li>Solar, Batteries &amp; EVs: Will solar work at my house?</li></ul>Workshops are suited for current/prospective homeowners, and renters. Participants will receive copies of Extension fact sheets and other informational resources. Light refreshments will be served. Fletcher Branch of the Washington County Free Library is located in Hagerstown, Maryland. The library offers 2 hours of free parking in the large lot which is accessible from Baltimore Street and the alley behind the library.
