Community Workshop NOLA

Learn to use of the miter saw and drills to make a planter box out of wood.

In this workshop, participants will learn the safety and use of the miter saw and drills to make a planter box out of wood. Participants will also learn about “finishing” techniques (sanding, staining, painting, polyurthaning, etc.) to personalize and enhance the look of your planter box and protect the wood over time. Finishing will be done on the participants own time after the class. All materials included in the cost of the class. This class is open to all! No woodworking experience required.Come enjoy our shop and tools, make friends, and learn a new skill.A﻿bout the Instructor:My name is Ben Dendy and I am excited to be one of the instructors at Community Workshop NOLA. I have participated in many woodworking projects since I was a little kid. I would help my dad make things and he taught me how to properly use different wood working tools safely. Since then I have developed my skills by completing my own projects. While woodworking was a hobby for me most of my life, I have almost always worked in the construction industry since graduating college with a degree in construction management. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach people the skills to make beautiful and useful objects out of wood.
