The Crossing kicks off the 2023-2024 Season: Sin Eating with Crickets in our Backyard, featuring the world premiere of a new work from Tania León, based on poetry of U.S. Poet Laureate Rita Dove, written for The Crossing and renowned, mind-bendingly virtuosic flutist and MacArthur Fellow Claire Chase, a frequent collaborator with conductor Donald Nally. Wang Lu’s At Which Point, a 2021 commission on poetry of Pulitzer Laureate Forrest Gander, will be reprised, and a new work from The Crossing’s 2022-2023 Resident Composer, Ayanna Woods, will be premiered.

Following this Philadelphia performance, "Crickets in Our Backyard" will tour to Yale University (9/19) and Harvard University (9/21).
