Women Writing for (a) Change Jacksonvilleis a growing community for Jacksonville writers. We focus primarily on women, but not exclusively. We strive to reach a diverse audience and to make our programs accessible to all, including all cultural groups, genders, and communities.

Join us for an empowering evening as we dive into the profound connection between women and water, exploring its immense power to heal.

She goes where she will without pretense and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself.”— Maya Angelou </blockquote>Caregivers wear many hats in both professional and personal roles. As we continue to heal from the demands of the pandemic, taking time now for self-care and reflection is even more important. The movement and power of water, and it’s ability to bring peace and calm, is helpful for this healing.This circle invites women who are caregivers—health care providers, ministers, teachers, counselors or those who care for family—to return to the deep well of their soul for nurturing and replenishment. Through images and ideas of water in nature, we will explore how water invites us to rest and find solace, to navigate our way forward, and to take risks toward new challenges.Week I: The Strength and Peace of Still Water. Focus: How does water nurture us? How do we invite that nurture and savor it? Week II: Water: The Ways of Pathfinding. Focus: How is water a symbol for the meandering of your life? Where in the river are you? Where is the river calling you? Week III: Water: The Collective Power of Drops. Focus: Water as a symbol for the collective of women. When have you been a part of women as a collective? Where are you being called to join other women now?This writing circle will be facilitated by Mary Kendrick Moore as her practicum for the certification as a Women Writing for (a) Change facilitator. Open to anyone who identifies as a woman. Class size limited to 8. Register early. Event will be held in the Library at the Church, which is upstairs; an elevator is available.
