Please join us for the next installment of the Yale Club of San Francisco’s speaker series: a fireside chat with California Attorney General Rob Bonta on Tuesday, October 10th at 6 p.m. PST at the San Francisco office of Winston &amp; Strawn LLP.

Attorney General Bonta was sworn in on April 23, 2021 as the 34th Attorney General of the State of California and is the first person of Filipino descent and the second Asian-American to occupy the position.Attorney General Bonta's passion for justice and fairness was instilled in him by his parents, who served on the frontlines of some of America's most important social justice movements. He worked his way through college and graduated with honors from Yale University (1993, BA) and attended Yale Law School (1998, JD). Attorney General Bonta has led statewide fights for racial, economic, and environmental justice and worked to further the rights of immigrant families, renters, and working Californians. He previously worked as a Deputy City Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco, where he represented the City and County and its employees, and fought to protect Californians from exploitation and racial profiling. He went on to pursue elected office in Alameda County, first as an Alameda Council Member and later as an Assemblymember representing Oakland, Alameda, and San Leandro. In the State Assembly, Attorney General Bonta enacted nation-leading reforms to inject more justice and fairness into government and institutions.Among other topics, Attorney General Bonta will discuss his career path from Yale to the Attorney General’s office and his successes and challenges as the chief legal and law enforcement officer of the most populous state in the United States.The fireside chat is sponsored by the Yale Club of San Francisco (“YCSF”) and hosted by Winston &amp; Strawn LLP.Attorney General Bonta will be introduced by YCSF president Rahul Prasad (1987, PhD, Engineering &amp; Applied Science). YCSF Board member and Winston &amp; Strawn LLP partner Keerthika Subramanian (2011, JD) will be moderating the fireside chat.An assortment of light appetizers and beverages will be available.
