SALWA's Internet Café is organizing an Extremely Late Brunch, with interventions, live interviews and a drag performance.

July 8th we’ll be organizing a conveniently Extremely Late Brunch ￼ with interventions and live interviews in collaboration with INC's <a href="https://networkcultures.org/void/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Void</a>. The brunch will inappropriately end by a drag performance by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/cremedeamer/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Créme de L'Amer</a>. The event is part of our Internet Café Gatherings and exhibition program, and will take place at W139. Spots are limited, so make your RSVP while they're hot Tickets are €5 (RSVP here, pay at the door:) ), and we'll be happily accepting donations for our ever growing community. Join us at the SALWA Gatherings Internet Cafe edition, where we will dive into the topic of internet infrastructure in relation to migration.For the last three months we have had our first residency program, "SALWA's Internet Café", where we explored the experience of using the internet in communal and physical spaces, and how this has influenced the visual language of creatives with a migrant background. We are more than excited to share the results with you and present our resident artists <a href="https://www.instagram.com/melchenyu/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Chen-Yu Wang</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/geobarcan/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Geo Barcan</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/hala404k/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hala Alsadi</a>, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/zengsixin/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sixin Zeng</a> who have been exploring questions revolving around the internet as a space, whether it's virtual, physical, or conceptual.Our event takes place over several days, featuring a series of screenings, performances, discussions, and site-specific installations hosted at W139. The themes we'll be exploring include the experience of using the internet as a community and the knowledge that has emerged from it. We'll also be examining nostalgia and memories, local internet infrastructures, digital migration, online gender roles, and pop-visual and sonic languages that emerged from the late 1990s and early 2000s.Our events are designed to encourage informal cross-pollination between practices by sharing meals together and having conversations between the presentations. We believe that this will create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for everyone to learn, share, and grow - so come hungry and thirsty, we have you covered We are grateful to the Creative Industries Fund NL for supporting and making this event possible. Our partners include Casco Art Institute, The Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux, The Hmm, Varia Zone, W139 and The Institute of Network Cultures (INC).We welcome you all to join us for an exciting and thought-provoking event. Come and re-imagine the potential of a landscape that was created by the internet, and discover how the internet has transformed our lives and creative expressions.
