We are looking for 10 Farmington Region teachers engaged in teaching the sciences to join us for a 2-hour roundtable followed by lunch.

Educate Maine, in partnership with The Roux Institute and Maine Bioscience Association, is excited to be designing a mobile bioscience laboratory that will visit schools across the state to increase interest in and awareness of bioscience content and careers. We invite you to participate in an educator round-table! It is important to us to engage teachers at the start of this design process to ensure that we enhance what you are already doing, engage in areas that might otherwise be unavailable to you, and support Maine teachers in meeting their curriculum needs to promote positive outcomes for Maine students.The mobile lab will allow us to bring scientific tools and techniques right to the school parking lot, allowing students a field-trip style experience in STEM along with career exposure, curriculum based on real-world Maine jobs, and educator professional development opportunities. The entire program will be available at no cost to schools. In our first school year, we plan to serve grades 6-8. We are looking for 10 Franklin County/Farmington Region public school teachers who are engaged in teaching the sciences to join us for a 2-hour roundtable followed by lunch. A $200 stipend will be provided for your time and an additional $50 travel stipend to support any mileage, gas and travel costs to attend this event in Farmington.
