If you are a Black farmer, landowner, or individual member of an existing co-op but not a member of the Federation and would like to attend the Annual Meeting you can apply for Financial Aid or a Scholarship here. <h3>Y﻿ou will be informed of the status of your scholarship by 8/10/2023 at the latest.</h3><h3>The deadline to apply is August 4th, 2023</h3><h3>We are handling scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis.</h3>In keeping with the Federation&#x27;s mission to support Black farmers, landowners, and cooperative individuals in rural low-income Southern communities, every year the institution awards hundreds of scholarships to non-members to travel to our signature events to receive technical assistance. Annual meeting scholarships are made possible by the support of the Federation&#x27;s generous sponsors and supporters. Scholarships are awarded based on funding and need in the following areas:*﻿ A Black farmer, landowner, or co-op individual member can receive the following types of scholarships based on need:<ul><li>Group Travel with Fees Reduced or Waived</li><li>Event Registration Fee-r﻿educed or Waived</li><li>Event Food Costs- Reduced or Waived</li><li>H﻿otel Accommodations- Reduced or Waived </li></ul> *Travelers are responsible for covering any incidentals they incur during the Federation event such as parking, food ordered during the hotel stay, etc.*﻿*Hotel scholarship recipients share rooms with other persons to ensure as many Black farmers, landowners, and cooperatives in an effort to accommodate as many people as possible for each networking and technical assistance.Join us for our 56th Annual Meeting beginning in Birmingham on August 17th and ending in Epes Alabama on August 19th!This event celebrates over a half-century of work, memories, and progress in the development of the Federation as the foremost organization serving a membership of Black farmers, landowners, cooperatives, and low-income communities in the rural south.P﻿lease be sure to secure an individual ticket for each member of your party (including children).M﻿ore InformationFinancial Aid and Scholarships only apply to the specific application.To receive FSC/LSG Financial Aid or a Scholarship, you&#x27;ll need to:1. Apply/Fill out this application that includes information about your needs and submit your application. 2. Wait for your application to be reviewed. Typically it takes about 1-2 weeks for scholarship approval.3. When your application is reviewed, you&#x27;ll get an email from events@federation.coop letting you know whether it&#x27;s been approved or denied. 4﻿. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is August 1st, 2023. Please apply as early as possible as funding is limited.5. After you submit your application, it will take up to two weeks to review your application. Unfortunately, the Federation is unable to provide exceptions or rush individual applications. All non-members will be notified by August 10th regarding their application status.Approved applicationsIf your application is approved, you&#x27;ll get an email letting you know exactly what type of scholarship you are awarded and how to proceed.Denied applicationsIf your application is denied, you’ll get an email letting you know. That email will explain why your application was denied.Transfer Financial AidUnfortunately, the Federation cannot transfer payments, Scholarships, or Financial Aid to different people within a household or organization. Each person has to apply individually.We are excited to announce that non-members are able to attend all of our events, with the exception of the member-only Saturday Business Meeting. This means that you can join us for workshops, networking events, and seminars to enhance your professional growth and expand your network.
