The Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center is a multi-purpose cultural space in the Southeast community of Newport News, Virginia. Originally built as the Walter Reed School in 1917, our historic building has been restored and open to the public since October 2008.In addition to the 276-seat Ella Fitzgerald Theater, we haverooms for meetings and events, as well as studio space for visual and performing arts. The Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center is a facility of theCity of Newport Newsdepartment of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.

This summer, you gave your child the gift of Theatre camp! Come see the culmination of all the hard work these students have been working on in Pure Imagination, the Finale Performance. They&#x27;ve gained confidence, grown their creativity, and they&#x27;ve became more empathetic humans.JOIN US for PURE IMAGINATION featuring some of your fave Broadway hits. Pure Imagination is a brand-new revue featuring songs from across MTI&#x27;s Broadway Junior® collection. From Broadway Junior musicals based on adored titles like Seussical and Shrek The Musical to Disney favorites like Beauty and the Beast and Frozen, Pure Imagination offers a fun introduction to musical revues for young performers who are new to musical theatre.



Performances: July 29 – 11 am &amp; 3 pm (Ticketed)
