Participants in this workshop can explore painting, drawing, watercolour, printmaking, suminagashi, collage, and more.

Summer of ArtsEach drop-in session of this weekly mixed visual arts program will have multiple visual art mediums for the participants to use. Facilitators will offer guidance on how to use the materials, but the subject of the work will be left open to participants. Participants can explore painting, drawing, watercolour, printmaking, suminagashi, collage, and more. After a lifetime of playing in the lake and forest, her large abstract paintings nod to the waters and wilds of British Columbia. Her works on canvas feature vibrant and familiar washes of colour, layered and manipulated with bold forms and drawn elements that bring forward both a sense of emotional depth and fresh air. Her paintings, murals, poems, photography, and musical and poetic performances can be enjoyed on her website and Instagram. @angieanajones / <a href="https://angiemarchinkow.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">angiemarchinkow.com</a>Jesse Roode is a passionate certified educator and self taught artist who bases their practice in project based and self directed learning. Their expression touches on themes of environmentalism, sustainability and ecology. Her mediums of choice include traditional drawing, digital illustration, story telling, manga/comics, zines, printmaking, plein air/landscape/painting, and basic sculpting/installation. When Jesse is not working she is immersed in nature drawing, reading and researching or cooking elaborate treats.Candace Thayer-Coe is a paper artist using craft and artistic expression to create works of art in her “Cloud Art” studio. She studied and practiced Japanese and Western paper making in the Philippines. Her favourite papers are those that have a proper composition and surface for traditional marbling techniques: Japanese “Suminagashi” and Turkish “Ebru”. She produces one-of-a-kind marbled sheets on commercial and her own handmade paper. Her vision is the re-emergence of the ancient craft of marbling and creating an awareness of its artistic capabilities and promise.
