Hanging Out for Sloths - a fundraiser for sloth conservation

With sloth populations predicted to be in decline throughout South and Central America, the Sloth Conservation Foundation (SloCo) works to secure a resilient and secure future where sloths thrive and are sustained by healthy and connected forests and habitats. Our mission is to safeguard all six extant sloth species through innovative long-term, community-based conservation solutions that target both the human and sloth populations, supported by ground-breaking scientific research into sloth biology, ecology, and genetics.SloCo was founded with the determination to use an integrated approach to stimulate progressive change and develop sustainable, creative initiatives that allow communities to coexist in harmony with the nature that surrounds them.

Join us at our first ever in-person fundraising event for sloth conservation!
100% of the funds raised will support the important work of The Sloth Conservation Foundation (SloCo).On the 19th of August, 2023, we will be holding an exciting fundraising event to help us continue our important work protecting sloths – and we would love for you to be a part of it. The event will be held at Beaumont Farms, a stunning event venue in Petaluma, CA. It will be hosted by Dr. Rebecca Cliffe (founder and director of SloCo), and award-winning wildlife photographer Suzi Eszterhas, who will be giving a joint presentation about sloth conservation. Since 2017, our team has been fighting to safeguard a future for sloths with great success. Together we have restored and reconnected over 12,000 acres of rainforest habitat in Costa Rica. We have installed over 230 Sloth Crossing wildlife bridges, educated 6000 children, and helped to castrate and rehome 600 dogs. With your help, we are hoping to raise enough money to double the area covered by our projects in 2024. Alongside an afternoon full of sloth conservation stories and fundraising opportunities, you will also enjoy live musical performances by Hannah Jern Miller, world-class opera singer Lisa Tenorio, and award-winning piano and violin duo Leslie Garman and David Ewart (whose work you may recognize from movies like Titanic and Avatar - among many others). There will also be a selection of locally produced hors d'oeuvres, fine wine, beer, and champagne for you to enjoy, a silent auction, and more!
We look forward to seeing you there!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hannah Jern-Miller, Leslie Garman, David Ewart, and Lisa Tenorio for the music; to Beaumont Farms for generously providing their stunning venue to host this extraordinary event, and to our sponsors Lagunitas Brewery, Korbel Champagnes, and Sun First Solar for their support!*In compliance with venue regulations, we kindly remind all participants that pets are not allowed at the event
