Can we visit filming locations in Burkittsville?

Only a few minutes of the film was shot in Burkittsville itself, mostly at the cemetery (burkittsvillecemetery.org). The cemetery is open during daylight hours and you are welcome to visit. Please be respectful and follow the posted rules.

Can I camp at the event?

Accepted Answer

There's nowhere to camp IN Burkittsville.

If you want to camp in the woods five minutes away from Burkittsville, we'd recommend the Treehouse Camp at Maple Tree (thetreehousecamp.com)

Question 3

Is there lodging in Burkittsville?

Accepted Answer

Burkittsville does not have lodging, but there is plenty of lodging in Frederick County.

Can I bring/purchase alcohol at the event?

Sorry. The Burkittsville Ruritan does not allow any alcohol on the property.

Will there be food available?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Boxcar Burgers (boxcarburgers.com) will have a food truck on site.

You can also bring your own food to the event (though no alcohol is allowed).

What kind of seating is there?

Accepted Answer

Chairs will be provided, but feel free to bring a camping chair if you find them more comfortable.

We will have several local spooky vendors attending:
