Conversation Series Finale: Impact of Police Violence on Black Communities

The Cleveland Community Police Commission (CPC) was established in 2015 as part of the Consent Decree between the City of Cleveland and the U.S. Department of Justice. The CPC works with the community to provide input on police policies to help strengthen relationships between officers and the communities they serve. A series of community conversations about the impact police violence has on the mental health of Black communities in Cleveland. Information about attendees' lived experiences will be used to help build trauma informed police policy in Cleveland.

This conversation provides a space for Black individuals in Cleveland who have been impacted by police violence to: - Engage in conversations to share their own experiences- Learn about and discuss the history of police violence against Black communities- Gain awareness to available therapies &amp; mental health agencies to help reduce the impact of trauma caused by police- Help build trauma informed police training, policies, and procedures in Cleveland<h3>Conversation Details</h3>Date: Friday, July 28, 2023Time: 8:00am – 2:00pm Location: Tinkham Veale University Center
