Downtown Community Cleanup - the Southbank

Downtown Dwellers are Jacksonville north and south riverbank residents who are active participants in enhancing the livability of Downtown Jacksonville as a safe, inviting, culturally rich place to live. In addition, we may includeassociated entities, as described below:Our purpose is to advocate for neighborhood quality of life within Jacksonville’s Urban Core, including:The safety of the area residents;The growth and maintenance of the infrastructure to meet residents’ needs;The further development of residential, commercial, and retail structures & services to meet residents’ needs.The specific objectives of this organization shall be:To promote connectivity within the urban core;To encourage the maintenance of the neighborhoods’ riverwalks and streets;To promote the safety of people who live in Jacksonville’s Urban Core;To encourage monitoring & patrolling neighborhoods’ riverwalks and surroundings;To support the beautification of neighborhoods’ riverwalks and surrounding areas;To collaborate with the Department of Parks, Recreation, & Community Services in a Friends-of-the-Parks Agreement to advise and assist city personnel in the maintenance and enhancement of our riverwalks and general neighborhoods.To host social and informational meetings to disseminate information and educate residents in specific procedures, such as accurate record-keeping, collaboration, group planning, and information dissemination.

Check in will occur at Treaty Oak Park. Bottled water, gloves, and trash bags will be provided. Afterward, we will be gathering on the patio of nearby by bar/restaurant, the <a href="https://southerngrilljax.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Southern Grill</a>, to enjoy food, drinks, and remarks from one of our host organizations, <a href="https://buildupdowntown.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Build Up Downtown</a>!
